Inheritance Law
Legal assistance in probate proceedings, disputes between heirs, and the regulation of inheritance relations.
Inheritance matters often involve complex property and family issues that require a thorough analysis of the documentation and the legal position of each heir.
We provide support in probate proceedings, inheritance disputes, and advance estate planning through wills and inheritance agreements.
Planning succession in good time reduces the risk of disputes among heirs. That is why we also help clients before succession opens, while the estate can still be arranged the way the owner wants.
Areas of Practice
- Probate proceedings
- Drafting wills
- Lifetime support agreements
- Agreements on the transfer and distribution of property
- Establishment of inheritance rights
- Contesting a will
- Disputes between heirs
How We Help
We advise clients on which legal instrument best matches their intention: a will, a lifetime maintenance contract or a contract on the transfer and distribution of property during one's lifetime. Each has different conditions, form and consequences.
In probate proceedings, we gather evidence of the estate and of kinship, represent heirs before the notary public acting on behalf of the court and, when a dispute arises, litigate to establish or challenge the right of inheritance.
How We Work Together
- Estate and heirs – we establish what the estate consists of and who the heirs are.
- Choice of route – we propose a will, a contract or an agreed division.
- Probate proceedings – we represent you until the decision on inheritance is issued.
- Registration – we register the inherited property in the public registers.
Good to Know
The law protects the closest relatives with a forced share, so even a will cannot dispose of the entire estate completely freely. A will must be made in one of the forms the law prescribes, or it may be annulled.
Property is best preserved when its succession is considered in good time.
